Nautapa literally means ‘nine days of heat’. It begins when the Sun God enters the Rohini Nakshatra. This year, Nautapa will begin on May 25, 2025 at 3:27 am, when the Sun transits into the Rohini Nakshatra. This period will last till June 2. Although the Sun stays in the Rohini Nakshatra for 15 days, the first 9 days are considered to be the most intense and hot.
